Molly Miller leaves Grand Canyon for Arizona State coaching
Molly Miller, the head coach of Grand Canyon University's women's basketball team, is set to join Arizona State University for the 2025 season. This news comes after Miller's team lost to Baylor in the first round of the NCAA tournament last Friday. Miller and Arizona State have reportedly agreed on a deal, although specific contract details have not been made public. She will take over the Sun Devils from Natasha Adair, who was let go after a disappointing season with a 10-22 record. Under Miller's leadership, Grand Canyon had a remarkable season. The team achieved a 32-2 record, won its first Western Athletic Conference title, and earned its first NCAA Tournament berth. This includes a streak of 30 consecutive wins, the longest in the nation. Miller became a viral sensation after her enthusiastic celebrations following Grand Canyon's championship win over Campbell, where she was seen making Gatorade angels on the locker room floor. She has a history of success, previously winning two state championships in high school and becoming a top scorer at Drury University. In her five seasons at Grand Canyon, Miller built a strong program with a 99-30 record. Now, she faces the challenge of revitalizing an Arizona State team that has not seen a winning season since 2019.
