Momo factory meat confirmed as goat, not dog
A raid at a momo factory in Mohali has raised concerns about food safety. During the inspection on March 17, a piece of flesh was found that was initially thought to be a severed dog head. However, an examination by the local animal husbandry department later confirmed it was goat meat. The factory owners, Arzudeen and Joginderpal Singh, are currently missing. They were charged with spreading infection and adulteration two days after the raid. The potential animal cruelty charges still need to be verified. Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal reported serious hygiene and sanitation violations at the factory. Samples, including the piece of flesh, were sent for analysis. Experts identified the meat as belonging to either a buck or doe goat. Ravi Arora, who reported the issue, remains skeptical about the animal husbandry department's findings. He claims that witnesses believed the flesh looked like the head of a dog or cat instead of goat meat.
