Moncks Corner man arrested for drug possession charges
A man from Moncks Corner has been arrested after deputies found drugs during a disturbance call. The man, identified as Samuel Mazyck, is 52 years old and lives on Old Highway 52. On March 13, deputies were called to a house on Fanwood Drive due to reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they spoke with Mazyck, who claimed he was looking for someone but no one answered. While talking to the deputies, he dropped a clear plastic bag behind him. The deputies detained Mazyck and picked up the bag. Inside, they found a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing 6.3 grams. Mazyck was then arrested and taken to Hill-Finklea Detention Center. While being searched at the detention center, another bag containing a crystal substance fell from his pant leg. This led to an extra charge for introducing contraband into a detention center. Mazyck was given a $100,000 bond for the drug charge and a $50,000 bond for the contraband charge. He is still in custody.
