Mookie Cook transfers from Oregon basketball program
Oregon Ducks basketball player Mookie Cook has decided to leave the team. He announced on Tuesday that he is entering the transfer portal after two seasons with the Ducks. Cook, a sophomore forward, has had a challenging college career. He missed most of his freshman season due to an ankle injury but played 24 games this year, averaging 1.1 points and 0.5 rebounds in limited minutes. He performed well in one NCAA Tournament game, scoring six points against Liberty. Despite his recent struggles, Cook still retains three years of eligibility. This depends on whether the NCAA approves his medical hardship waiver. He originally came from Portland and was a highly-regarded recruit, ranked as a four-star player in the 2023 class. Cook had attended Compass Prep in Arizona before joining Oregon.
