Moradabad launches campaign against severe rat infestation
Moradabad is facing a serious problem with rats that are damaging homes and infrastructure. This rat infestation has reached alarming levels, with the rodents burrowing into the foundations of houses. Residents have complained about the destructive impact on sewer lines and wooden doors, prompting local officials to take action. The Municipal Corporation of Moradabad has announced a large-scale initiative to control this growing crisis. After a recent meeting, they decided to hire the Central Storage Corporation to handle the rat problem. A pilot project in Ward No. 41 successfully captured 683 rats using specialized methods. Encouraged by this success, the Municipal Corporation plans to expand the campaign throughout the city. They will initiate a tender process and have set aside around Rs 30 lakh for the effort. The campaign will cover various affected areas, including Jama Masjid, Atai Mohalla, and Jhabbu Ka Nala. Local authorities acknowledge that this is not the first time Moradabad has dealt with rats. Past efforts offered only temporary relief. However, officials are now focused on finding a long-term solution to ensure residents feel safe and secure in their homes. Additional Municipal Commissioner Ajit Kumar assured the community that they are committed to solving the issue effectively.
