Moravia High School presents "Footloose" musical performances
Moravia High School will present the musical "Footloose" this spring. Students from grades 6 to 12 have been working hard to prepare for the show. The musical tells the story of Ren, a city boy who moves to a small town called Bomont. In Bomont, Ren faces strict rules, including a ban on dancing. He meets Reverend Shaw and his daughter Ariel, who helps him understand the reasons behind these laws. Together with the help of local friends, Ren tries to bring joy back to the town by challenging its traditions. The cast features many talented students. Wyatt Anthony plays Ren McCormack, and Evelyn Ottaviano plays his mother, Ethel. Other key roles include Jack Lemmon as Reverend Shaw and Brooklynn Lott as Ariel. A team of students is also working behind the scenes in various technical roles. The performances are scheduled for March 21 and 22 at 7 p.m., and March 23 at 2 p.m. They will take place in the high school's newly renovated auditorium. Tickets cost $10 and can be bought online or at the door. This musical is part of a vibrant season of school performances in Central New York. Other schools are also presenting their own shows, including "Band Geeks" and "Cinderella."
