Mother and friend arrested for assaulting 3-year-old

Police in Mohali have arrested a woman and her male friend for allegedly sexually assaulting her three-year-old daughter. The incidents took place at the woman's house in February. The arrests followed a complaint from the woman's husband, who accused her of having an affair with the 27-year-old man. In his complaint, the husband, who runs an immigration consultancy, claimed that the assault was filmed on his wife's mobile phone. He stated that both the woman and the man engaged in inappropriate behavior in front of the child and recorded it. The complaint was filed after the husband discovered the videos. The man reported that he married the woman in April 2021. Previously, he noticed an unfamiliar man visiting their home. His wife told him this man was a childhood friend. The husband's suspicions grew when he found that the security cameras in their home were turned off during these visits. After returning from a work trip to London, the husband used a spare key to secretly enter his home. He found his wife and her friend in bed together. Upon checking his wife's phone, he discovered messages and objectionable videos involving both the man and his daughter. After the husband's mother spoke to the child, they learned about the sexual assault. When the father confronted the man, he was met with threats, with the man claiming to be a police officer. Following the complaint, police took action and arrested both individuals. The suspects now face serious charges, including aggravated penetrative sexual assault under the POCSO Act, which carries a minimum prison sentence of 20 years. The child has been taken for counseling to aid her recovery.
