Mother arrested after son eats marijuana brownies
A mother in Cumberland County, Alissa Gonzalez, 37, was arrested after her 7-year-old son ate several marijuana-laced brownies. The brownies contained about 250 mg of marijuana, significantly more than the recommended starting dose for new users. The incident occurred in January when the boy reported to authorities that he could not attend school because his mother was often incapacitated and hosting friends who smoked marijuana in their home. Gonzalez faces charges for not seeking medical help for her son after he consumed the brownies. The boy's grandmother, Rhea Grove, 60, also lived in the home and reportedly smoked marijuana around him.
