Mother arrested after son kills estranged wife in Pune

Pune: A 57-year-old woman was arrested by police in Pune after her son killed his estranged wife, Alka Bamble, with an axe and a billhook. The incident took place at their home in Ghodegaon. According to police, Bamble was visiting her husband's house to collect their son's school documents and her mobile phone when a fight broke out. The woman's employer, who accompanied her, witnessed the attack and ran to the police to report it. In the days leading up to the murder, the suspect had taken documents from Bamble’s house, which led to tension between the couple. On the day of the attack, Bamble and her employer arrived at her husband's home, where an argument escalated quickly. During the confrontation, the husband and his mother physically restrained Bamble. He first tried to attack her with an axe and then used a billhook. Bamble fell while trying to escape and was killed. Also present was the employer, who began filming the incident. The suspect's mother reportedly urged her son to attack the employer as well. After the assault, the employer, along with Bamble's friend and her friend's daughter, fled to report the crime. The police arrived at the scene and detained the suspect's mother. They are still searching for the son. The woman was taken to court and will remain in police custody until March 26.
