Mother charged with attempted murder of her daughter
A mother named Carla Lovejoy, 53, appeared in court on charges of attempting to murder her daughter. The incident took place on the evening of March 20 at their home in Broadstairs, Kent. It is reported that Lovejoy stabbed her daughter, Isabella, multiple times. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, quickly responded to the scene. Isabella, in her 20s, was taken to a London hospital where she is in serious but stable condition. Lovejoy was arrested at the scene and later charged with attempted murder on March 22. During her court appearance at Folkestone Magistrates' Court, Lovejoy confirmed her name, age, and address while wearing prison-issued clothing. She has been returned to police custody and will remain there until her next court hearing on April 22 at Canterbury Crown Court. Forensic investigators spent time at the bungalow gathering evidence following the attack. The police cordoned off the area, which is normally described as a quiet neighborhood. Kent Police stated they were alerted to the incident by a call around 6:50 PM on March 20. The investigation is ongoing.
