Mother killed by husband in South Toms River

A mother of four was killed by her husband while their children hid in a nearby bedroom, according to police. Gustavo Juarez-Perez, 38, has been charged with the murder of Cheyanne Juarez, 30, in South Toms River, New Jersey. He called 911 on March 8 and admitted to killing his wife after an argument. When the police arrived, they found Cheyanne unresponsive with a belt around her neck. Juarez-Perez was wearing clothes stained with blood. Their four children, aged between 3 and 14, were found unharmed in another room. The eldest child told police that the couple had argued loudly before she took her siblings to safety. Earlier that day, the family had spent time together at a store and restaurant. The children’s biological mother, who arrived at the scene, stated the couple had been together for 11 years. She mentioned that co-parenting was not an issue, as the oldest child spent weekends with Juarez-Perez. Police also spoke with a housemate who said Cheyanne had told her on March 3 that she’d ended the marriage. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up in memory of Cheyanne, highlighting her dedication to her children and her kindness. Juarez-Perez is also charged with weapon offenses and will remain in jail until his trial.
