irishmirror.ie

The mother of Niall Keane, a 25-year-old motorcyclist who died in a crash last year, has not participated in the inquest into his death. Despite efforts by gardaí to contact her, Bridget Keane has not attended the hearings. Inspector Amanda Flood reported that Ms. Keane was aware of the inquest but was unwilling to engage. The coroner, Aisling Gannon, decided to proceed with the hearing without her testimony, noting the importance of her evidence for identifying her son. A post-mortem confirmed that Keane died from multiple traumatic injuries from the collision. The inquest has been adjourned for six months as criminal proceedings are being considered, with a follow-up scheduled for September 10, 2025.
