MP emphasizes women's empowerment for national development
A local Member of Parliament, Sagar Khandre, emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment for the development of the nation during a public meeting in Bidar. He spoke after inaugurating an event to celebrate International Women’s Day and an exhibition featuring products made by women’s self-help groups. Khandre encouraged women to strive for economic independence. He stated that being self-reliant allows women to live freely rather than depending on men. “You can lead a life in the way you want if you work and earn,” he said, urging women to contribute to their families and the country. The event was organized by the Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood Department alongside the National Rural Livelihoods Mission. Khandre highlighted that the government is dedicated to helping women achieve economic stability through various guarantee schemes. He also discussed the exhibition, which provided a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products. Khandre pointed out that women's involvement in economic activities is essential for national development and encouraged them to break barriers. Bidar South MLA Shailendra Beldale noted that the National Rural Livelihoods Mission aims to improve the financial situation of rural families and encouraged women to take advantage of this scheme. Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Girish Badole mentioned that several self-help groups are working with the mission to enhance financial stability for women.
