Mt. SAC wins ninth CCCAA women's basketball championship
Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) women's basketball team won the CCCAA state championship, defeating Orange Coast College 52-39. This victory marks Mt. SAC's ninth state title and their first since 2017. The Mounties improved their defense, forcing 22 turnovers and limiting Orange Coast to 19.6% shooting after a strong start. Daisia Mitchell and Taliyah McFerson each recorded double-doubles, with Mitchell named MVP of the tournament. Orange Coast, aiming for a third consecutive title, struggled offensively after a promising start. Their 39 points were a season low, highlighting Mt. SAC's defensive strength throughout the game.
