Mufasa: The Lion King tops China box office ending Her Story's four-week reign

Disney's "Mufasa: The Lion King" topped the mainland China box office, earning RMB56.1 million ($8 million) and ending the four-week success of "Her Story." In second place, Donnie Yen's "The Prosecutor" made $7.1 million, bringing its total to $18 million. The concert film "Jason Zhang Brilliance Tour" debuted in third with $5.7 million. "Her Story" fell to fifth place, earning $4 million for a total of $96.6 million. The weekend box office reached $36.9 million, with a year-to-date total of $5.8 billion, down 21.5% from 2023.
