Multiple storms cause weather warnings across the U.S
Multiple storms are affecting various regions across the United States, prompting weather warnings and advisories. In the Northeast, a storm is set to bring heavy rain and snow to New England, particularly Maine, on Friday. The National Weather Service reports that several inches of snow will also fall in the mountains of New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. This storm is expected to clear the area by Friday night. Despite the arrival of spring, cold temperatures have led to freeze warnings in the South. Areas in the Florida Panhandle, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia woke up to temperatures in the 30s. Looking ahead to the weekend, forecasters predict severe weather for the central U.S. This storm will likely bring heavy rain, hail, strong winds reaching up to 70 mph, and the possibility of tornadoes. Eastern Kansas, Missouri, and parts of far western Illinois are expected to face the worst conditions on Saturday. The storm threat will extend into the Mississippi Valley on Sunday. Additionally, red flag warnings are in effect across much of the central U.S. and parts of Florida due to high winds and dry conditions, raising the risk of wildfires. In the Northwest, winter weather advisories are in place from Oregon and Washington to Montana and Colorado, as these areas prepare for several inches of snow and high winds. These storms come shortly after a major system recently swept across the country, resulting in at least 42 fatalities.
