Mumbai air quality deteriorates as AQI exceeds 270 in Malad and Kandivali West
Mumbai's air quality has worsened since Diwali, with many areas reporting an air quality index (AQI) above 250. The overall AQI for the city is 156, with Malad and Kandivali West reaching 275 and 277, respectively. Most areas are experiencing moderate to poor air quality, with several locations classified as unhealthy. While some areas like Borivali East and CST Airport have better readings, many neighborhoods remain affected. On November 1, Mumbai also faced fire incidents, including a blaze in a Goregaon high-rise. Fire officials responded quickly, and no injuries were reported in either incident.
