A special court in Mumbai has discharged Ali Asgar Shirazi, who was accused of being a major drug supplier. The case involved smuggling Ketamine and Viagra worth ₹8 crore to Australia and the UK. Shirazi was arrested at the Mumbai airport in May 2023. Police claimed he was in contact with Kailash Rajput, a significant drug supplier in the UK. In March 2023, a raid at a courier office in Andheri East led to the seizure of 15 kg of Ketamine and 23,000 Viagra tablets. The drugs were allegedly being sent to Australia and the UK through the courier service. Two men, Vijay Rane and Hasim Shaikh, who operated the courier service, were also arrested during the raid. Investigators found that Shirazi had been procuring Ketamine from Gujarat and typically smuggled around 10 kg every month. After several arrests were made, the Anti-Extortion Cell launched a search for Shirazi and issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) to track him down.
