Police have started a murder investigation after finding a decomposed body of a man near Morni Road in Panchkula. The body, identified as a 50-year-old male, was discovered on March 15. Officers received a call about a bad smell coming from the area. Inspector Rampal Singh and sub-inspector Amit Kumar led the team to the scene. They found the body in a ditch. Evidence collected from the area includes two bedsheets and small wire pieces from the man's pockets. A post-mortem report confirmed that the cause of death was asphyxia, indicating possible strangulation. Further tests will be done to gather more information. The police have filed charges under two sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita: one for murder and another for causing the disappearance of evidence.
