Murder investigation initiated after man's death in Preston
A murder investigation has started after a man died following an attack outside a primary school. The victim, 62-year-old Gary Carlisle, passed away in the hospital on March 19, one week after the incident. The attack occurred on Ribbleton Hall Drive near Moor Nook School at approximately 6:15 AM on March 12. Emergency services arrived and took Mr. Carlisle to the hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, he never recovered. Police arrested a man in his 30s from Preston near the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. This individual has since been detained under the Mental Health Act. Authorities are seeking additional information from the public, particularly anyone with CCTV or mobile footage from the area. Detective Chief Inspector John McNamara expressed condolences to Mr. Carlisle's family, who are receiving support from specially trained officers. He encouraged anyone with information to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting log 0181 of March 12.
