Musk supports Republicans pushing for judicial impeachments
Elon Musk has donated significant amounts to Republican lawmakers who support impeaching judges that hinder President Trump's actions. This move comes amid discussions about whether Trump will follow court decisions. Musk's donations primarily target seven Republican members of Congress. These lawmakers have either voiced support for judicial impeachments or have called for actions related to recent court rulings against the Trump administration. The total legal limit for donations in both primary and general elections is $6,600. One significant case involved Judge James E. Boasberg, who ordered the government to return planes carrying alleged Venezuelan gang members back to the U.S. The Trump administration did not follow this order, raising concerns about potential constitutional conflicts. Following this, Trump suggested that Judge Boasberg should be impeached. Musk donated to various representatives, including Eli Crane, Lauren Boebert, and Andy Ogles. He also contributed to Senator Charles E. Grassley from Iowa. Representative Brandon Gill introduced articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg after a ruling that blocked Trump's attempt to deport the Venezuelans using an old law. Boebert has expressed her support for Gill’s impeachment articles, and Musk praised her stance on his social media platform.
