The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) organized an Iftar party in Palayamkottai on Wednesday. The event took place at the Mazjid-Ur-Rahim mosque, led by local MDMK leader K. M. A. Nizam. MDMK treasurer M. Senthilathibhan spoke at the gathering. He highlighted the important role of the Muslim community in resisting British rule and participating in India’s freedom struggle. He expressed concern that Muslims in northern India are currently facing targeting and violence. Senthilathibhan mentioned recent unrest in Nagpur after calls to remove a tomb associated with Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. He underscored that Tamil Nadu, home of the Dravidian movement, remains a place of peace. There, Muslims and people of other faiths live together harmoniously. The party also featured other MDMK leaders, including T.M. Rajendran and spokesman ‘Minnal’ Mohammed Ali. Senthilathibhan emphasized the importance of maintaining communal harmony for future generations.
