MVA criticizes ministers' absence in Maharashtra legislature
Opposition lawmakers from the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition in Maharashtra have raised concerns about the absence of ministers and bureaucrats in the state legislature. They expressed their complaints during a meeting with Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Thursday. Aaditya Thackeray, an MLA from Shiv Sena (UBT), shared details of the meeting on social media. He criticized the government for disrespecting the Legislative Assembly and Council. He pointed out that only one minister was present during an important debate, forcing the Assembly to adjourn. He noted that no other ministers or department secretaries attended the sessions since they began. Thackeray emphasized that ministers are not prepared to answer questions from lawmakers. He accused the government of being dismissive and focused on distractions. Additionally, Thackeray mentioned that the Legislative Council has not addressed a motion submitted by the opposition to remove the Deputy Chairperson. The MVA has now asked the Governor to step in and address these issues.
