Mysterious rock-throwing incident on Rama II Road investigated
Images have emerged showing a person throwing a rock from an unfinished bridge at cars on Rama II Road in Bangkok. This road has experienced serious accidents recently. The video was posted on a popular Facebook page called Drama-addict, which has millions of followers. A driver reported the incident while traveling to Bangmod Hospital. The driver’s son said he saw the man on the bridge before he threw the rock, which hit their car. Some believe the individual might be a construction worker, but the contractor denied this claim. They checked their surveillance footage and confirmed that construction was not happening at that time. An outsider matching the description was seen at the site. The contractor promised to improve security to prevent trespassers from entering the construction area. This incident raised alarms as accidents in the area have been deadly. Just a week earlier, six people died when a concrete beam fell from a bridge under construction. Rama II Road connects Bangkok to southern destinations like Hua Hin. However, heavy traffic and construction delays have hurt tourism, pushing visitors to other locations. Authorities are working to reduce travel time with new expressway constructions, but accidents have been frequent. From 2018 to mid-March this year, over 2,500 accidents on Rama II Road led to 144 deaths and more than 1,400 injuries. Safety concerns continue to grow as incidents involving construction projects remain a significant issue.
