Mysuru fines telecom center for open trash burning
The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) fined the Regional Telecom Training Centre (RTTC) for burning trash in the open. Residents provided video evidence of the RTTC staff burning dry weeds and vegetation on their campus. The RTTC was penalized Rs. 1,000 total for burning dry waste and littering. The MCC plans to increase fines for similar offenses to deter such practices. MCC Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif noted that the city receives several complaints daily but can only act with sufficient proof. The MCC aims to improve Mysuru's cleanliness ranking in the upcoming Swachh Survekshan.
