Mysuru has opened a new Namma Clinic to enhance healthcare services in the area. MLA Tanveer Sait inaugurated the clinic on Abdul Rahman Road in Rajivnagar 2nd Stage. This Namma Clinic is part of a health initiative aimed at providing basic services to urban poor and lower-income groups. There are now two Namma Clinics and eight Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the N.R. Constituency. Each clinic serves a population of about 80,000 people. The new clinic is spacious and has a staff of 12, including a doctor, nurses, and ASHA workers. Surgeons will also visit the clinic weekly. The Namma Clinics are meant to offer primary healthcare and refer patients to government hospitals for advanced treatments if needed. These clinics were introduced to serve populations that previously relied on private healthcare facilities. They aim to provide free primary healthcare, targeting areas with populations of 30,000 to 50,000. The clinics can address various health issues, such as non-communicable diseases and fevers. This expansion of healthcare facilities follows the Budget announcements under the 15th Finance Commission. DHO H.C. Kumaraswamy and others attended the opening ceremony.
