Nagpur recently celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the Shri Munisuvrat Swami Jain Temple. The event saw the launch of a significant healthcare initiative. This project was inspired by Jainacharya Darshanvallabh Suri Maharaj. The Kalyan Mitra Foundation played a central role by distributing free protein powder to 2,100 hospital patients. This effort aimed to support underprivileged individuals during their recovery. It aligns with Jain principles of selfless service and highlights the community's dedication to healthcare. Patients from various hospitals, including Mayo Hospital and Tukdoji Cancer Hospital, received the protein powder. Charitable outpatient departments also benefited, receiving supplies for their patients. Kalyan Mitra representatives stressed their goal of providing both nutritional and medical support. The foundation has been active in social welfare initiatives, especially in healthcare and nutrition. In the last 18 months, they have organized 11 free cancer screening camps and six major health camps, which aided over 2,300 slum residents. They also delivered 42,000 packets of buttermilk to patients at Tukdoji Cancer Hospital. Their ongoing efforts include distributing medicine kits daily and offering medical investigations and counseling for cancer patients. Other local organizations have also contributed, working together to make this initiative successful. Key supporters included Mahendra Sheth, Piyush Shah, and many others who dedicated their efforts to this important cause.
