Nalgonda students celebrate astronaut Sunita Williams' return

Students at a primary school in Nalgonda district celebrated the safe return of astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore. The event took place on March 18, and the school's headmaster, Udavath Lachiram, inspired students with stories about space science. Lachiram explained NASA's mission to students in classes 1 to 5. He also showed a live telecast of the astronauts' return as part of the event. Students received photographs and artwork of Sunita Williams created by the headmaster and other teachers. Three Class V students were especially inspired. They expressed a desire to explore space science further. The headmaster noted how curious the younger students became as he provided details about the astronauts' journey. The classroom was decorated with drawings of astronauts, planets, stars, and rockets. A welcoming message for Sunita Williams was written on the board. The students, aged between 5 and 11 years, asked many questions and showed great interest in space exploration.
