Naperville Central has strong roster for 2025 softball season
The 2025 high school softball season is set to be exciting for teams in Naperville, Illinois. Naperville Central is bringing back eight starters, including standout Riley Silvers, who has committed to Florida International. They will be competing against Metea Valley, the defending DuPage Valley Conference champions. Metea Valley has faced some loss due to graduation but still has strong players. Senior pitcher Charlie Benesh is on track to become the school's leader in career wins. She'll be supported by returning seniors Claire Desrosiers, Grace Feeley, and Sydney Eakin. Naperville Central hopes to improve on last year's performance, where they nearly captured their first conference title since 2015. Their strong lineup includes top hitters Jamie Saran, Riley Silvers, and pitcher Shea Meech. Naperville North looks to recover from a tough 2024 season. The team has ten returning players, including Maddi Larsen and Eliza Patterson, who have considerable experience. They will be looking for contributions from other seniors and juniors. Neuqua Valley aims to have a solid defensive lineup. They will rely on senior pitcher Ava Drehs, who set a school record with 234 strikeouts last season. Catcher Krista Waldusky and strong hitters Nalia Clifford and Ashley Pape are also key players. Waubonsie Valley is in rebuilding mode, with only two returning players. However, they are hoping for a boost from sophomore Addison Powell, who is expected to be a key contributor on offense and base running. The upcoming season promises to be competitive with several teams eyeing the top spots in the conference.
