Napier teen aims for American scholarship and pro football

Ethan Spencer, a 17-year-old from Napier, is making waves in the football scene. He has been a loyal member of the Napier City Rovers since he was six years old. Now, he is set to represent the team in 2025 on a national level. Spencer attends Napier Boys’ High School and is focused on achieving a starting position in the Central League. He is one of four under-20 players in coach Bill Robertson's squad. This season, the team aims to improve on last year's performance, where they narrowly missed a chance to reach the National League final. Napier City Rovers will begin their Central League campaign next Saturday against the Wellington team, Western Suburbs. Spencer dreams of a football scholarship in the United States, and he hopes to make his mark in this upcoming season.
