Natalia Grace is now living with the DePaul family
Natalia Grace, a Ukrainian orphan, has been in the spotlight due to her troubled adoptions and allegations of abuse by two families. Her story is highlighted in Hulu’s new series, "Good American Family," which explores the events surrounding her life. Natalia was originally adopted in 2008 but was placed back on the adoption market in 2010 when she was adopted by Kristine and Michael Barnett. They claimed she displayed unusual behaviors that led them to believe she was much older than they thought. After adopting her, they even petitioned to legally change her age to 22. In 2013, the Barnetts left her alone in an apartment when they moved to Canada, which led to further controversies. After living alone for over a month, Natalia moved in with Cynthia and Antwon Mans, who adopted her in 2023. However, she later accused the Mans family of abuse, including physical violence. Tensions rose when they restricted her access to the internet, concerned about her relationship with a boyfriend in the U.K. Now, Natalia is living with the DePaul family. They initially tried to adopt her in 2009 and managed to connect with her after her departure from the Mans family. Since moving in, Natalia has shared her journey in a documentary series and recently featured on the cover of People Magazine. Currently, she is studying for her GED and hopes to become a teacher. Natalia is also learning to drive and preparing for surgeries related to her dwarfism. She feels free and is in a happy relationship, emphasizing her desire to reclaim her life after years of distress.
