Nathan Fillion calls his Green Lantern character a jerk

Nathan Fillion shared details about his portrayal of Green Lantern in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie. He described his character, Guy Gardner, as "a jerk." Fillion emphasized that for a Green Lantern, being good is not necessary; they just need to be fearless. Fillion explained that Guy Gardner is indeed fearless but not very nice. This approach to the character allows Fillion to have fun with his role. He mentioned that Gardner's biggest flaw might be his overconfidence, believing he can take on Superman, which is unrealistic. In Superman, Fillion will showcase his version of Guy Gardner, a member of the Green Lantern Corps known for his distinctive bowl cut. The movie marks the beginning of a new chapter in the DC Universe. The cast of Superman also includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Milly Alcock will make her debut as Supergirl. The film is scheduled to release on July 11. Additionally, an HBO series titled Lanterns will focus on other Green Lanterns, including Hal Jordan and John Stewart, and is set to air in early 2026.
