National conference focuses on maternal and child health advancements
A national conference focused on improving maternal and child healthcare took place at GITAM University’s School of Nursing. The event was titled 'Revolutionizing Maternal and Child Healthcare'. S.J. Nalini from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research emphasized the importance of antenatal screening. She pointed out that an integrated care model could enhance maternal health. Early detection and intervention were also highlighted as key to better pregnancy outcomes. C. Rajeswari from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences shared knowledge about emergency obstetric techniques. Asha P. Shetty from AIIMS Bhubaneswar discussed various challenges faced in infertility care. She also talked about new practices in neonatal resuscitation and the importance of family-centered care in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). S. Swarna from Tirupati SVIMS Nursing College addressed the need for monitoring new mothers after childbirth. She shared ways to handle complications like postpartum hemorrhage, infections, and mental health issues. V. Prabhavati, K.S.K. Divya, and D. Srivalli provided additional practical insights during the conference.
