National Geographic honors 33 innovative visionaries nationwide

Some well-known names on the list include Edward Norton, Selena Gomez, and Yara Shahidi. The National Geographic 33 recognizes individuals from various fields and backgrounds. Nathan Lump, the editor-in-chief, said they all share a commitment to tackling important global issues. The number 33 honors the organization's founders, who started National Geographic in 1888. Among those featured is Jason Momoa, known for his role in "Aquaman." His interest in the ocean goes beyond acting; he studied marine biology and advocates for ocean conservation. He also launched a company that produces aluminum water bottles to combat plastic waste. Other notable honorees include Hamdi Ulukaya, CEO of Chobani, astronaut Victor Glover from NASA, and professor Dr. Shu Yang from the University of Pennsylvania.
