NATO and Ukraine to discuss response after Russian hypersonic missile attack

NATO and Ukraine will hold emergency talks following a Russian attack on Dnipro using a new hypersonic missile. This missile, named Oreshnik, is said to travel at Mach 11 and can carry multiple warheads. The attack marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, which has lasted nearly 33 months. Ukrainian officials reported heightened security measures in response to the threat of further strikes. In a televised address, President Putin claimed the missile was a response to Western military support for Ukraine. He stated that the Oreshnik could reach targets across Europe and emphasized its destructive potential.
