Nawaz Sharif returns to Pakistan and dismisses protest efforts against government
Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), returned to Pakistan on Saturday with his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, and others. He stated that protests against the government will not succeed. During his departure, Sharif criticized the previous government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming it brought disrepute to the country. He also mentioned that an elected prime minister was removed with judicial support. Sharif expressed confidence in the recovery of Pakistan's economy, praising current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's efforts. He promised that the PML-N would address the economic challenges faced by citizens, including high power bills and inflation.
