Nayyar Hasnain Khan appointed in Bihar's Economic Offences Unit

The government of Bihar has appointed three senior officers from the Indian Police Service (IPS) to new positions. This decision was announced in a notification from the state's home department on Saturday. Nayyar Hasnain Khan has been named the additional director general (ADG) of the Economic Offences Unit (EOU). Khan is a 1996-batch IPS officer and previously served as the Inspector General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Patna. Amit Lodha, who is a 1998-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the ADG of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB). Lodha recently received a promotion to the ADG rank. He is known for inspiring a popular web series based on his book. However, Lodha is currently facing investigations related to allegations of disproportionate assets and misuse of his position, which are being looked into by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Paresh Saxena has been appointed as the additional commissioner-cum-ADG of civil security. These new postings reflect the state government’s efforts to strengthen its police administration.
