NBCUniversal's 2025 Upfront set for May 12
NBCUniversal has announced its 2025 Upfront Presentation will take place at Radio City Music Hall on May 12 at 10:30 am ET. Mark Marshall, the company’s chairman of Global Advertising and Partnerships, shared his thoughts in a letter on LinkedIn. He emphasized the importance of content in today’s media landscape. Marshall stated that many people wonder if the Upfront events are still necessary. He believes they are, as consumers now spend over 13 hours on various media each day. This audience engages with content on multiple screens, including broadcast, cable, and streaming services. NBCUniversal plans to showcase exciting content, including a major new contract featuring the NBA and WNBA. This partnership, which begins with the 2025-26 season, will allow NBCU to broadcast 100 national NBA regular-season games and numerous playoff games on NBC and streaming platform Peacock. Events in February 2026 will be particularly noteworthy, as they will include the Super Bowl, NBA All-Star Weekend, and the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. The company is gearing up for its 100th anniversary in 2026 with many sports events like the Paralympic Games, Ryder Cup, and the FIFA World Cup in summer 2026. Lastly, this upcoming Upfront event may be the last before NBCUniversal splits in two. Comcast is working on separating some cable networks and digital assets into a new public company while retaining the NBC broadcast network, Bravo, and Peacock. Telemundo plans to hold its own event on May 13, the day after NBCU's presentation.
