NCAA Tournament lacking dramatic upsets and buzzer-beaters
The NCAA Tournament has kicked off, but so far, it hasn’t been as exciting as usual. Fans are missing the famous buzzer-beaters and major upsets that often define March Madness. While there have been some upsets, they haven’t been as dramatic. For example, Colorado State was favored to beat Memphis and did so with a score of 78-70. Similarly, No. 12 seed McNeese won against Clemson 69-67, but only after almost losing a significant lead late in the game. Drake, another lower seed, managed to surprise No. 6 seed Missouri with a 67-57 victory. However, these kinds of outcomes are fairly common and expected in the tournament. Drake’s coach admitted that he saw this coming. The closest thing to a buzzer-beater so far came from Amarr Knox of Alabama State. He scored a layup just before the buzzer to secure a 70-68 win over Saint Francis. It wasn't as dramatic as famous moments in the past, but it still counts for March. Despite the lack of thrilling moments, the NCAA Tournament still draws attention. It has not been boring, but the anticipated excitement of “madness” hasn’t fully arrived yet. Fans are hoping for more surprises as the tournament continues.
