NDMC launches initiative to repair 14 key roads

New Delhi's Municipal Council is focusing on improving 14 key roads in the city through its 'One Road, One Circle' initiative. Chairman Keshav Chandra inspected the work on Saturday, emphasizing the importance of coordinated road maintenance. The project includes comprehensive repairs and greening efforts set to take place over 10-15 days. Key tasks involve fixing interlocking pavers, kerb stones, and concrete flooring. The health department will ensure sanitation, while the engineering department is responsible for repairs. Weekly cleaning with treated water will maintain cleanliness along these roads. Roads targeted for these improvements include Connaught Place, Pehswa Road, Talkatora Road, and several others. Daily inspections by senior officers aim to ensure quality and address urgent issues effectively. The maintenance plan includes repairing roads and footpaths, cleaning green spaces, and maintaining litter bins. Horticultural activities will involve planting new trees and taking care of existing plants. Additionally, the enforcement department will remove unauthorized encroachments and parked vehicles. The electrical department will fix streetlights and other electrical issues. Jetting machines and anti-smog guns will be used during sanitation to help reduce pollution. Officials believe these efforts will not only make the roads function better but also improve their appearance, contributing to a cleaner and greener city.
