NDP and United Steelworkers prioritize workers ahead of elections
The United Steelworkers (USW) union and New Democratic Party (NDP) Leader Jagmeet Singh are hosting a media event in Hamilton, Ontario. The event will focus on the upcoming federal election, which is expected to be announced soon. Officials from the USW, including National Director Marty Warren and Ontario & Atlantic Canada Director Kevon Stewart, will join Singh to discuss important issues affecting workers. These issues include potential job losses and economic uncertainty in Canada. The USW is a long-time supporter of the NDP, having helped found the party in 1961. Since the last federal election, the NDP has worked in Parliament to address key worker concerns. The event will take place on March 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Resurrection Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hamilton. Members of the public and media are invited to attend for an important announcement regarding workers' issues in the election.
