Ne Zha 2 boosts animation job openings in China
The animated film Ne Zha 2 has sparked significant growth in China's digital cultural and creative industry. The movie, produced by Chengdu Coco Cartoon Co., has earned over 15 billion yuan (about S$2.7 billion) globally, making it one of the highest-grossing films in history. Industry experts say the success of Ne Zha 2 has led to increased job opportunities in areas like animation, visual effects, and game design. Companies are now eager to hire talent to keep up with this demand. Chengdu Yunshang New Audiovisual Culture Technology Co reported offering 18 positions at a recent job fair, including roles for screenwriters, 3D modelers, and graphic designers. At the same job fair, Chengdu Christian Technology Co noted that many jobseekers had come to their booth due to the film's popularity. The company received a flood of resumes, particularly from applicants interested in animation and gaming positions. Recent graduates are particularly enthusiastic about these opportunities. One graduate from Ningxia Hui described Chengdu as a desirable place to work and live, while another from Shanghai expressed interest in game design roles. Both see potential in Chengdu's growing market for digital entertainment. The Chengdu Talent White Paper highlights that the city's industrial parks have developed over 70 new talent categories in fields such as gaming and animation. This growth offers promising career paths for jobseekers in the creative industry.
