NEET aspirant dies by suicide in Jodhpur
A 19-year-old NEET aspirant has died by suicide in Jodhpur. Rohit Bhati left behind a note asking for forgiveness. His body was discovered hanging in his hostel room. Police found a note that said, "Sorry, forgive me Chinnu." They are investigating whom he may have been addressing. Rohit, originally from Ras in Beawar, moved to Jodhpur a year ago for coaching. The hostel owner discovered him and alerted the police. Rohit's family quickly traveled to Jodhpur upon hearing the news. After a post-mortem at AIIMS, the police returned his body to his family. Authorities are examining Rohit's call records to understand possible reasons for his death. This incident comes as discussions are ongoing in the Rajasthan Assembly about student mental health. A new bill, introduced on March 19, aims to regulate coaching centers amid rising student suicides. This issue has predominantly affected areas like Kota, known for its coaching institutions. Critics argue that recent changes in the bill increase pressure on students. The bill has removed a 16-year age limit for younger students enrolling in coaching. It also made aptitude tests voluntary and increased fines for coaching centers that break the rules.
