Nestlé recalls frozen meals over wood-like material contamination
Nestlé USA is recalling several frozen meals due to concerns about foreign material contamination. The company announced the recall on March 18, 2025, after a possible choking incident was reported. The contamination involves a wood-like material found in some of their products. The recall affects specific batches of Lean Cuisine and STOUFFER’S meals produced between August 2024 and March 2025. The affected items include Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli, Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and STOUFFER’S Party Size Chicken Lasagna. Nestlé is working closely with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the FDA to investigate this issue. They assured customers that this problem seems to be isolated, and they are taking steps to avoid future occurrences. Customers who have purchased these products should check the batch codes listed in the recall notice and return any affected items for a replacement or a full refund. The recalled meals were distributed to retailers across the United States, with best-before dates ranging from September 2025 to April 2026. Nestlé has set up a hotline for customers with questions about the recall. This isn't the first time Nestlé has faced such a situation; in August 2023, they recalled chocolate chip cookie dough bars due to potential wood fragments. No injuries were reported in either incident, but the company acted out of caution.
