Netanyahu claims ‘leftist Deep State’ undermines right-wing leaders
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office stated on Wednesday that there is a "leftist Deep State" undermining right-wing leaders in both Israel and the U.S. The office claimed that this group uses the justice system to challenge and weaken elected officials like Netanyahu and former President Donald Trump. Netanyahu's comments coincide with growing protests in Israel against his leadership. Thousands demonstrated on Tuesday night after he announced he was firing Ronen Bar, the head of the Shin Bet internal intelligence agency. Many believe Netanyahu is using ongoing conflict with Hamas for political gain. He also faced backlash over his attempts to dismiss Defense Minister Yoav Gallant before the war. In the U.S., Trump is currently facing numerous lawsuits related to his immigration policies and other controversial initiatives. Recently, a federal judge temporarily blocked the removal of Venezuelan citizens linked to a designated terrorist organization. Trump has criticized judges who oppose his plans, calling them "Radical Left Lunatics." A Republican lawmaker has introduced articles of impeachment against the judge involved, claiming he abused his power. The White House has also been vocal in its criticism of the judiciary, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt accusing judges of trying to delay the administration’s actions.
