Netflix is developing a new adaptation of "Little House on the Prairie," with Rebecca Sonnenshine as executive producer. This project is described as a "transformed adaptation" that will focus on the original books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Alison Arngrim, who played Nellie Oleson in the original series, emphasized that the new show will not attempt to recreate the 1970s version. Instead, it will explore the early life of Laura Ingalls, returning to the source material. Arngrim noted that the new series will differ significantly from the original, which aired from 1974 to 1983. She stated that the creators are committed to honoring the legacy of Wilder while offering a fresh perspective on the story.
