Netflix's "Sirens" limited series premieres May 22
Netflix has announced that its new limited series, Sirens, will premiere on May 22. The series is a dark comedy featuring a strong female cast, including Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, and Milly Alcock. Sirens has five episodes and was created by Emmy-nominated writer Molly Smith Metzler. It is based on her play, Elemeno Pea. The story follows Devon, played by Fahy, who believes her sister Simone has an unhealthy relationship with a wealthy socialite named Michaela, played by Moore. Devon decides to intervene when she discovers the extent of Michaela's influence on Simone. The series takes place over one dramatic weekend at Michaela's luxurious beach estate. It explores themes of women, power, and class in a humorous and incisive way. Other cast members include Kevin Bacon, Glenn Howerton, and Bill Camp. Molly Smith Metzler will also serve as an executive producer alongside Margot Robbie's production company, LuckyChap. The first two episodes will be directed by Nicole Kassell, known for her work on Watchmen. Sirens is the first project from Metzler's partnership with Netflix, which began in 2022.
