Nets players ranked by NCAA Tournament school seeds
The NCAA Tournament is set to kick off on Tuesday with First Four games in Dayton, Ohio. The tournament will run until the championship game on April 7 in San Antonio, Texas. Cam Johnson and Day’Ron Sharpe, players from the Brooklyn Nets, made it to the tournament with their North Carolina Tar Heels. They had a tough season, finishing with a 1-12 record against top opponents. Many thought they would not make the tournament, but they squeezed in. Johnson remains hopeful, saying that now every team has a chance to win. Other Nets players did not fare as well. Several did not have their schools qualify for the tournament this year. These players include Reece Beekman from Virginia, Tyson Etienne from Wichita State, and D’Angelo Russell from Ohio State. Johnson and Sharpe's Tar Heels earned a No. 11 seed with an overall program rank of No. 46. Johnson performed well in his two seasons, scoring an average of 15 points per game. Sharpe was also a standout, especially in rebounds. Nic Claxton played at Georgia, which secured a No. 9 seed. He made a notable impact in his two years there, averaging 8.4 points and receiving a second-team All-SEC honor. Other players on the Nets list include Tyrese Martin from UConn, who helped his team earn a No. 8 seed, and Jalen Wilson from Kansas, the only NCAA champion among them, who was key to his team's success this year. The rankings also feature Noah Clowney from Alabama and Keon Johnson from Tennessee, both of whom helped their schools achieve strong tournament seeds. Dariq Whitehead from Duke is ranked the highest, with his team earning a No. 1 seed in the tournament.
