New Agricultural University proposed in Mandya region
A new Agriculture University is planned for Mandya, Karnataka. The Universities of Agricultural Sciences (Amendment) Bill was introduced in the Assembly on Tuesday. This bill aims to make legal arrangements for the establishment of the university. The proposed university will be situated at V.C. Farm. It will serve several neighboring districts, including Mandya, Hassan, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu. Existing colleges and training centers in these areas will be moved to the new university’s authority. The government estimates that setting up the university will cost around ₹287 crore. This new university was first mentioned in the State Budget.
