New cement flooring project launches at Tiruppur bus stand
Construction of cement concrete flooring is now underway at the Kovil Vazhi Bus Stand in Tiruppur. This addition comes after the project was initially planned with a bitumen surface. The new flooring aims to enhance durability. The project, costing ₹26 crore, is funded by the Infrastructure and Amenities Fund. It includes 42 bus bays, 35 shops, and parking for 550 two-wheelers. Facilities also feature a restaurant, nursing pod, elevators, and an information center. This bus stand is the third in Tiruppur, designed to ease traffic congestion as the city grows. The previous terminals were developed in 1982, 1986, and 1993, and another was opened in 2002.
